Meet Ju AKA Studio Home!

Meet Ju AKA Studio Home!

by Home Work

February 20, 2020

Hi Ju we are so excited to meet you soon,  could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi Lara and Jess!
I'm a 38  and intensely drawn to and  passionate about home spaces, design, art and artists, gardens, gardening and flowers!

Over the last 12 years, based on my Studio Home platforms,  I was firstly dedicated to firstly promoting independent makers, creators and innovators from both sides of the Tasman, In recent years, I have been concentrating more on my own ideas around personalised homes, non trend based living and of course my gardening adventures! Indulging my love of art further I also run my own online art gallery (Studio Home ART) and have regular group exhibitions based in our villa in Christchurch.
I write for publications, my brand partners and in reverse, work at luring THEM to support my personal projects!
Right now am half way through filming my debut series; 'The Magic of Gardening" featuring inspirational, bite sized stories of NZ gardeners and the creativity they have found in transforming their spaces. I  have a rug design to be released with local brand; Dilana, I write for Nood, have just wrapped up an Ambassadorship with Hewlett Packard NZ and am in the midst of an exciting on as Beginner Gardener Ambassador for the new Christchurch Garden Festival - Grow Ō Tautahi (FREE event 20-22 Mar.)

And lastly ... somehow I managed to get my husband T (a master bricklayer) to set up another side business where we converted the little shed in our garden to become Studio Home Framing!
We are a busy but very fulfilled household xo
Tell us in 5 words what you most love about Christchurch?
Innovation, Opportunity, Public Spaces, Attitude, Location (eg. position within wider Canterbury and South Island which has everything I love close by!)
What are you excited for at Art Camp New Zealand?
Ohhhhh the people and the relaxed environment we get to learn AND bond!
What is the best kept secret that all tourists should know about your hometown?
Rather than seeking out the sections of ruin still around, look at the amazing modern architecture, attitude packed small businesses and endless public spaces.
We are headed to have the most modern city centre in the whole world - I believe in a 100 years students will travel here to study "Post Christchurch Earthquake Architecture"!
