Art Camp 2020 will take place from 8th 'til 10th May, 2020. Welcome drinks and activities begin from 6pm on Friday 8th of May. Art Camp concludes at 3pm on Sunday 10th May.

Colour & Collage with Emily Green

Emily Green is a Melbourne based artist, jewellery and accessories designer whose bright and vibrant work explores bold patterning and clever colour combinations. Emily Green is represented by Craft Victoria and her work is stocked by The National Gallery of Australia and other selected museums and boutique stores in Australia and internationally. Emily is truly the queen of colour and we can't wait to see her process in action!

Drawing & Stencilling with Lucas Grogan

Come spend some time with the one and only Lucas Grogan before he gets too famous to speak to any of us. Grogan is an internationally infamous art legend known for his hilarious and heartbreaking masterpieces - many of which hang in major galleries all over the world.

It’ll be fun. Grogan is hilarious. Grogan’s practise spans multiple disciplines. He has collaborated with major brands (and said fuck no to more). He’s widely disliked but curiously respected. You're gonna LOVE him.

(PLUS he's going to be hosting Trivia Night - it's going to be a turn up for the books!)

Weaving with Maryann Talia Pau

We are dying of excitement that our ultimate girl crush, Maryann Talia Pau, is coming to Art Camp 2020!! Maryann is a Samoan-Australian artist and practising weaver based in the Redland's, Quandamooka Country, Queensland. Maryann’s weaving practice is based on exchange and collaboration. Born in Samoa and raised in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand & Australia, she is a maker of 'Pasifika bling' and co-founder of the Pacific Women's Weaving Circle and Super Native Unlimited. In 2012 she founded the One Million Stars to End Violence project - an international weaving project inviting the public to weave one million stars as symbols of light and peace. The resulting installation was part of Festival 2018 during the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. What a total legend!

Polymer Clay Floral Plaque Making with Madeleine Stamer

Superstar Madeleine Stamer balances family, exhibiting and creating small runs of limited edition and open edition prints, art pieces and collaborative projects from her home studio in the leafy suburbs of Melbourne. Madeleine's folk infused images display rich decorative line and bold pattern. Her work has been described as captivating meditations on life and death, nature and culture. Part tattoo, part Australiana, part pattern, Madeleine's works take the eye on an excursion along a decorative, dark and highly idiosyncratic line. She's also the most delightful bundle of sunshine, dry humour and creativity that you will ever meet!

Shibori Indigo Dyeing with Home-Work

We are going to take you to BLUE HEAVEN in this Shibori dyeing workshop. You will learn all the basics plus some special tips and tricks to create your own indigo masterpieces! Creative duo Lara Davies & Jess Wright have been working as textile designers and screen printing teachers all over the world for the past decade. In 2018, the pair published the popular how-to screen printing book Print Play with Hardie Grant. Home-Work are known for their fun, inclusive and inspiring workshops and events. As well as workshops, Home-Work have delivered and marketed numerous craft markets, exhibitions, design collaborations and corporate events.

Painting with Melissa Grisancich

Born in 1987, Melissa is a legendary Melbourne based artist. Her work maintains a firm ethos of using found or recycled objects and she insists on making her works entirely by hand. Her work reflects her interest in surrealism, 60's and 70's record and poster graphics, iconography, symbolism, vintage ephemera and comics. Melissa has gained a reputation for curating the most exciting must-see exhibitions in Australia. Her stunning artworks have been exhibited locally and internationally including San Francisco, Japan and France. We are so excited to get an insight into Mel's creative practices!

Where is Art Camp 2020?

Art Camp 2020 is returning to the awesome "Camp Wyuna" in Queenscliff, Victoria! It's about an 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne via the M1 and Bellarine Highway. You can also take the train to Geelong Station and then the Route 56 bus to Queenscliff. If water travel is more your jam, you can catch the Port Phillip Ferry from the Docklands to Portarlington and then jump on a bus to Queenscliff!

ART CAMP FAQs

WHO CAN ATTEND ART CAMP?

Art Camp 2020 is a safe, inspiring and inclusive space. ANYONE over the age of 18 is warmly welcomed to attend Art Camp. Most our camp venues are wheelchair accessible, if you require any other accommodations please contact us. We are SO excited to meet you!

IS ALL FOOD & DRINK PROVIDED?

Our camper are going to be well fed with all food and drinks provided. You can expect breathtaking breakfasts, luscious lunches, delectable dinners and scrumptious snacks!

WHAT IF I HAVE A FOOD INTOLERANCE?

Our wonderful Art Camp Head Chef can cater to any food allergies or intolerances you may have. After you have booked your spot we'll send you a form to fill in so you can give us all the relevant info to make your meals perfecto!

I'M KINDA SHY - IS ART CAMP FOR ME?

Ugh, we totally get it. It can be completely intimidating to rock up to a weekend with a bunch of total strangers. The good news is - we are SO excited to meet you and hang out with you. All of our welcoming activities are designed for us to relax and get to know each other - we are going to be besties in no time! Also, many of our campers are going to be solo so you are bound to meet some crafty soulmates - we're so excited!

CAN I STAY FOR JUST ONE NIGHT?

Obviously we'd love for you to be at Art Camp for the whole weekend but we completely understand that sometimes things come up - no problemo! We aren't able to offer discounted tickets for only one night but please let us know if you're going to miss any sessions.

WHAT IF I CAN'T DRAW?

We're going to let you into a little secret - lots of artists and designers CAN'T DRAW. Yup, it's true. At Art Camp we're going to take you through our step-by-step design process that is completely fool proof. You're going to be amazed at the amount of awesome designs you'll be churning out by the end of the weekend!

CAN I PAY IN INSTALLMENTS?

Our website currently offer a lay-by option at the checkout. If you need to pay for Art Camp 2020 in other instalments just email us at hello@home-work.com.au and we'll work something out!

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Most of our workshops are suitable to be held inside so even if it's raining we can all snuggle up indoors and get our craft on - yay!

WHO AM I SHARING A ROOM WITH?

Sleeping arrangements are shared, however we will *try* to make sure each person will have an entire bunk to themselves so you don't have to fight anyone for the top bunk. It all depends on how many campers are attending! Art Camp is all about getting out of your comfort zone and embracing adventures and you will actually spend very little time in your room - our timetable is pretty packed! If you are coming with a mate or 3 and want to share a room or adjoining rooms please let us know and we will of course make it happen!

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Art Camp Aus officially begins at 6pm on Friday We understand that some campers will be rocking up after 6pm so don't worry if you're late, there will be plenty of drinks and food waiting for you whenever you arrive! If you arrive early then you can go and explore Queenscliff until 6pm - there's lots to check out!

WHAT DO I PACK?

We recommend packing for all kinds of weather. During the weekend you will want to wear comfy clothes that you can get creative in and still feel fantastic. Remember you will be doing some messy activities, a bit of walking etc. Please bring your own pillow! We will send you an official Art Camp Packing List a few weeks before camp!

HOW MANY OTHER CAMPERS WILL THERE BE?

We can't give you an exact number but it will be between 20-50 campers! At Art Camp 2019 we had just over 40 campers.

IS ART CAMP WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Camp Wyuna is wheelchair accessible but please contact us to discuss your specific needs so we can make sure you have everything you need.

CAN I GET A REFUND IF MY PLANS CHANGE?

If you are unable to attend the weekend you are welcome to send a friend in your place - please let us know as soon as possible! We are not able to offer refunds.

WHAT IF ART CAMP IS CANCELLED?

In the very unlikely event that we don't get enough campers then you will receive a full refund and a voucher to attend a future Home-Work workshop. We promise to give you at least two weeks notice!

WHERE CAN I PARK?

There is plenty of free on site parking at Art Camp.
